As soon as he finished speaking, there was a loud bang. The peaceful aura surrounding Xi Men Jia Yin abruptly vanished and was replaced by a surge of power. And this time, the aura was a hundred times...The main plot of "Urban Ancient Immortal Doctor" has finally come to an end. Starting in September 2019 and ending in August 2023, it's been roughly four years.
A work of roughly ten million words is a breakthrough and a challenge for me.
Looking back now, I'm fairly satisfied overall, though it fell a little short of 10 million words in the end. But there's no need to dwell on that too much.
Writing a long piece is like running a marathon, with many factors influencing the outcome, including family matters, personal physical condition, and mental state, etc.
Looking back, the peak of this book should be in the Kunlun Continent and the first half of the Immortal Realm. It's considered the best time in terms of state and writing, which I am most satisfied with.
The worst part is the Chaotic Holy Realm. It tries too hard to be complete and fill every plot hole, but the story lacks substance and isn't well-developed.
This is a lesson learned, I guess. Next time I write a book, I definitely won't let my energy and focus dissipate at the end, or it will directly affect the quality of the work.
As for updates, everyone feels they're lacking. To be honest, that's the best I can do.
Everyone has different abilities and excels in different areas. I'm pretty good at writing urban speed, but when it comes to fantasy plots, I really slow down.
It's not really about hand speed, the key is your brain isn't working fast enough. Coming up with a plot or setting takes a long time.
But I can guarantee everyone that every single character was written by me, and every single character was carefully considered. There is absolutely no plagiarism involved.
As for the ending, some readers commented that the robot part at the end wasn't well done and felt excessive.
The reason I ended it this way is because I personally feel that the development of robots is too fast, and if it continues like this, anything is possible.
Technology is a good thing, but it's also a double-edged sword. I hope this plot can appeal to everyone, and that we should do everything within our power.
After all, I'm just a small author, and that's all I can do.
It took me four years to write this long piece, and I still have a lot of feelings about it.
Thank you all for your unwavering support. The author was able to write to the end thanks to readers, who are the biggest motivation. Without your support, it might have been abandoned halfway.
Here I would like to thank the great big cat for rolling around, effortlessly, neoyo, and the fragrant white lotus…thank you so much…
The main part of the book has ended, but there are still some unresolved plot points, such as Wen Susu who hasn't ascended, Li Qingzhu on Kunlun Continent, and Chu Lingxi who is very similar to Situ Dianmo. Many people are still thinking about them.
There are still some plot holes that need to be filled, such as why Dongfang Renjie betrayed, and some plots that everyone feels unresolved. These can be addressed in the extra chapters.
So next, I'm going to continue writing the side stories. The update speed won't be too fast, about one per week. Please don't worry, after all, my main focus will still be on creating a new book in the future.
I've been preparing for the new book for months, but I haven't come up with a satisfactory opening yet. I scrapped several attempts.
Two reasons, one is that I am currently writing fantasy plots and cannot find the state of mind for urban creation.
For another four years, I kept writing without a break. I was extremely exhausted and my condition wasn't good at all.
The next plan is to take a rest for one or two months, and then continue working on the new book. It's estimated that it won't be too late, I will try my best to do it as soon as possible, and once I recover my state, I will start immediately.
As for the new book's subject matter, according to my current thoughts, it's still most likely to be a urban fantasy doctor story, but you never know when creating something like this. Maybe one day I'll have a sudden flash of inspiration and come up with something different.
That's all for now, thanks everyone for your long-time support. If you have any special ideas for the extra chapters, feel free to contact me. I will do my best to meet your requirements.
Thank you all.
